A Place of Magic

There are places in the world, filled with magic, tingling your senses filling you up with glee and light till your mind spins around and takes you for a flight between the trees that have been living there for centuries. A place where the grass is always greener, the colours clearer and everything more beautiful than anywhere else. Does a place like that exist? I don't know, all there is here is concrete and brick buildings stashed neatly next to each other, street after street after street. But as in many stories it does not take a trip to a tropical country to find that magical place, perhaps it is right under your nose and you haven't seen it.

Close your eyes and feel your body soar,
through the sky, the world above.
Nothing is impossible, if only,
if only we just believe hard enough.
It sounds easy, but in point of fact it is very hard to really believe in something. Children still have the gift to really believe, see the beauty in the world that has been destroyed bit by bit by humans taking what is not theirs. Children see the animals in the clouds, the faeries in the forests and the little gnomes in their backyard, adults no longer believe. When we grow up we come to see the world as it really is, once reality kicks in imagination and believe gets lost.

The dragons once reigning the skies and the faeries living in the forest suddenly change into common things like dragonflies and fireflies and they become as normal as the rain that falls on our heads when all we need is sunshine. Every now and then somebody, a child or adult, decides to still believe in the magic that is around us, to see the world in all its beauty. Always see the cloud animals when you look up at the sky and talk to the trees that look all alone in a field and wish all good to someone else whenever you see a firefly, you never know, perhaps they are listening.

You are never to old to believe, but unfortunately, not even I can believe anymore. But sometimes, sometimes, a little believe a little imagination shows the magic we are missing out on.
