Faeries With Teeth

Faieries With Teeth

You think that faeries are the sweetest things,
Tinkerbells, with twinkling eyes and wings.
But those are just the stories of the adults’ minds,
to tell their children that everything is fine.

They have never wandered the woods alone,
when it’s cold and dark and you are on your own.
When werewolves cry to a blood red moon,
for silver bullets they are immune.

Goblins crawl between the trees at night,
cnawl your toes they do, instead of fight.
Their hideous faces as gruesome as their smell,
a rendezvous with them never ends well.

Sometimes dragons even find their wicked ways,
into the forests where the little children play.
Watching them until the golden sun will set,
the next morning the dragon has been fed.

Nothing is what it seems in every forest green,
because faerie-tale creatures are meant to be mean.
Faeries have the habit to sharpen their claws and teeth,
on young children’s toes and feet.

If you don’t believe me go outside and play.
wander off and stay out very late.
Stumble upon the place where the faeries meet,
scream when they eat you with the sharp little teeth.
