It All Ends

Me and many others have waiting for this moment for a very long time, ever since the first book came, the second book and then the first film. It was a series that would inevitably come to an end in books and in films. Yet, I have seen girls coming out of the cinema crying because it was all over, it was the end, the very last of them all. I didn’t expect anything and came out of the cinema the same as I had been watching just a regular film on the tellie that I did not care about that much but just saw for the sake of it.

I haven’t been so excited for watching the last film of the Harry Potter series, I just to be a real Potterfreak, join Potter RPGs and have meetings with the friends I made there. Now it is just a bit of nostalgia and tradition that makes me watch the films. The books were entertaining but I can’t say there were very well written. What bugs me the most about everything J.K Rowling has every done is ending the last book in the way she did. Of all possible ending she choose the most cruel one and then suddenly for all the little children who (don’t) read her books (anymore) she decides to through in a disgustingly cheesy happy ending that shouldn’t have existed in the first place. The first ending was good the way it was, the story was wrapped up, it wasn’t particularly cheerful but it wasn’t tearjerkingly sad either, all was well.

When it comes to comparing the film with the books, I can’t compare them. As much as I have read the books, stood in line for them at night, I can’t remember by the love of that is good how the last part went. Perhaps the ending was that disappointing that I blocked out the entire thing and forgot about it. There is only one thing that will disappoint me forever. Always when I have read a book and have seen the film I come to the conclusion that my favourite bits are never in it. It goes the other way around too, films that have amazingly funny part that just aren’t in the books. I will just have to console myself that most books are still better than their hollywoodisation, which probably already has some fancy name that I can’t remember now.

On the sleeping part, it is going better. Because my aunt and uncle went home we had an empty tent. So me and my sister have dragged all our stuff and you know how women always overpack by half when they go away. We dragged the mattress that is part of the foldwagon into the tent and I slept like a baby. Best thing every since eating a Pancake French Extra with Brie and herbbutter. It’s swarming with wasps again but we got some nasty smelling herb tea to chase them away and wasp/fly traps filled with sugarwater to catch the bugger so we don’t have to brush them off every second. The sun is shining again, my sister has been crowned Queen for a day by winning a game called “I love Holland” and demanded me jokingly to make pancakes and suggested to play a game with waterguns. I’m in!! On another sad note, my colour is washing out because I have forgotten to bring my hairdye with me, I look like a hairslob with the bleachblond poking through the pink.

Ajus!!
