Just In Time For Christmas

I am not one for the christmas spirit, nor do I celebrate the holidays with cheerful singing and presents. It is just not part of me to celebration something has trivial as the birth of a baby boy, I much rather celebrate the coming of winter and it's cold beauty. However, this will not be a story on how I do not enjoy Christmas, that is just a tad silly.

I have been struggling to effectively study and write essays, without writing them on the last minute. I have come to the conclusion, after almost forgetting that next week I got to deliver a big essay, that I better make a schedule for exam weeks. This way I know what has to be done, things I already have done and when my exams are. When this schedule is posted next to my computer I will always face myself with the deadlines I have to keep. I will never have to forget that in a month I will have to deliver another essay and do an exam on Realism.

Some things you only learn from trying. Last year I did not struggle much with keeping to a schedule without writing things down or printing it out. Truth is, this year there is a lot more study work to be done and the more insecure I get about passing, the more I procrastinate. Procrastination is an awful habit, in my case it is a form of escapism. As long as I don't have to think of the exam I will not have to think of the possible failure. Now I take a different approach, perhaps this is the key to happiness, but I doubt it. At least I am feeling good enough to have already written part of Friday's essay, written the summary of some chapters of a theory book and started studying the concepts. I hope I will be ok, I hope it.
