I have stopped moving forward,
walking circles in my head.
Tried all kind of different angles,
they all lead back to death.
Holding on to something,
You never know what’s ahead.
Though if you keep looking behind you,
you never know where you head.
Dreams burnt to smoke and ash,
floating into deep space,
trying to escape myself,
while being hunted by my own face.
I stopped looking into the future,
because it’s too much like the past.
I don’t want to relive that pain,
It’s too quick, too soon, too fast.
The road ahead is scarier,
than the ones I crossed before.
When I opened the tiniest of windows,
I closed the biggest door.
And now I wonder what I would have been,
my life I had not stopped,
looking forward to what I can become,
instead of what I’m not.
