After the turbulent 80's and the grunge ridden, pop fuelled 90's came the even more pop and R&B obsessed first decade of this millennium. The rappers had the thought life, living it out in the ghetto of their existence while pop music was screaming that love was all you needed, combined with an overload of sex. On our way to the second decade of this millennium we have become docile. Every musical change has been powered by social and economical hard time, so where is our new musical revolution.
Isn't it time to stand up against our governments and tell them to shove those cuts up their own arses and instead of making the working men pay, make the rich carry a bit more load. We have had a financial crisis and after we sort of solved that we are still trying to beat an economical crisis. The bread on our plates becomes less and less by the day and the value of our money keeps dropping. Isn't it time to begin a musical revolution and to stand up against the mess people have made of the world?
The only sound of discontent is from a right winged party that wants almost all immigrants out. That is not an inspiring voice to hear early in the morning when an islamic friend asks about whether you have done your homework or not. Ok, perhaps we got Lady Gaga, she does have a strong voice but she doesn't bring anything new when it comes to music, not that anyone ever did. We just need a louder voice that screams against all authority and let itself been known by their music and serious views on the world. Not their monkey suits and extravagant outfits.
Perhaps all the voices are just scattered across the globe and not 'load' enough for everyone to hear. Maybe, we need a new woodstock, to tell governments to shut up, bring piece and stop cutting on all that is good, such as culture and art.
