I not literally left home, don't worry about that. Unless my parents must figure out I started smoking and will kick me out for that, but I am sure they won't. They are pretty nice folks, I just got trouble communicating with them, not their fault at all. I left The Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls Forum, not the Asylum itself, I will never be able to leave that one, just the forum. Why you wonder??
I first loved going there about three/four years ago, it was quiet, everybody seemed to know each other and wanted to help others out. It was peaceful and just a tea party all over, without strict moderation. Then, more people came in, more people meant more moderation and rules. From being free to talk about anything at any time we got set into a school bench and could only talk about things that were considered not offending and not legal action worthy. The head of the bunch deleted the Filthy Libertine section in which people talked about fetish, sex and bondage, something a lot of people within the subculture or subcultures are interested in. I know the discussions became heated but at least they were there.
What is the Asylum forum now?? It is a high school, a bunch of teenagers competing against each other who has the worst life, who is suffering the most. Everything has become a competition fuelled by immaturity and ignorance. I thought I could just ignore it, but as soon as I open a topic there will be a bunch of kids complaining about what they are suffering from. I really fucking don't care, I came to the asylum to have a good time, sharing laughs and tears, the goods and the bads. Stupid ideas and brilliant ideas. Now every topic gets taken over by kids who make either everything a joke but know nothing about what they laughing about or as dramatic as a dead frog.
The straw that broke the Camiel's back? Chat being turned into a promoted shoutbox so that all mods could easily moderate it. I don't hate the mods, I just disagree with a few of them and fLee. The new chat is just one big mistake, most chat regulars have left because of that, it was the only place I frequented, I already didn't care for the forum for quite some time the chat was the only thing keeping me there. Now Emilie Autumn has tweeted that she might better shut the whole forum down, too much drama, you know. I don't care, with new people come new issues. I don't think this subculture is something you can moderate, put into a box and slap some rules on. We are just not that kind of people, we do not just quietly retreat, we fight for what we know and will always ask you why.
I will keep fighting for the right to be me, the right to speak my mind without boundaries to what I can say and what I cannot say. This is why home is no longer home, it is a house, why keep living in a house when you found another home again? This is my little Revolution, I will bite back, I will fight back just for the person I am. I am no longer gonna sit still in a corner not being able to speak my mind because rules tell me so. I will pack up and leave and find my place somewhere else.

I know how you feel about the forum. I stopped visting it much then when I decided to look back at it I found out about the upcoming "improvements". If I'm honest, I wasn't upset in the slightest. It used to be a brilliant place, even for someone like me who did more lurking than posting, but now it's just a whole heap of "baww look at me".
