"All animals are equal,
but some animals are more equal than others"
but some animals are more equal than others"
What happens when you receive the power, would you treat everyone as equals, share the load and try to make life as pleasant as possible or will you use the power to control others and live a life in luxury?
All over the world there are individuals and groups that are abusing the power they have gotten the legal way or have gotten it in other less civilised ways. We all want to do what we think is right, but sometimes, and more recently, more often, what we think is right is not what is good for all. Even a democratic country has power hungry politicians who just long to make things happen their way.
"Power corrupts,
absolute power corrupts absolutely"
There are obviously books written about how power corrupts the people who posses it, and in George Orwell's case, animals posses the power. Though, we don't seem to learn for these classical examples, based on facts of the socialistregime of Stalin. First we see all the good we can do with the power we have, how we want to make the world a better place, from our view point and ideals. However, we tend to forget that what is good for one is not always good for everyone. Also, even though you can never please everyone, plans an individual makes never seem to harm them, just "others".
After a while we start seeing opportunities to become better than those who are different, who do not posses the same power you do. Suddenly others become less equal. Though I am glad that here laws can't be changed without notifying the public, yet, we all know lies are been told and sometimes years and years later we find out the truth. It is a strange thing to realise that even the government tells lies about the most trivial things.
