Rubble and Ruins

Resisting temptation, the sweet satisfaction.
A hurried look across the room
to find a fix, hidden between the rubble
of yesterday, spread across the floor
floating in black liquid fear.

Shadow hands from out the fear
reach up to grab my arms
slowly they caress my wrists
A shiver spreads up to my mind
and my mind goes blank

The shiver turns into black liquid
the fear fills my head and stirs
like a summer storm, suffocating
travelling through my veins
to my arms, it pours out.

The room fills up with anxiety
the air humid and dead
in swirls of mist, pools of sadness
it stops and revives
pulses and vibrate
dies, with the quick touch of a blade

The happiness crushed beneath ruins
of tomorrow’s destruction
and the fix becomes the decease
and inside I die, little by little
until I am the liquid pouring down
into my fear, that feeds me
to rinse, repeat and destroy
