The Clock

I see the clock ticking above me head
tick tock tick tock tick tock
slowly the pendulum swings
left right left right left right
the sound echoing through my head
Tiick-ick tock-ock tick-ick tock-ock
Louder and louder, in my veins
da-dung da-dung da-dung da-dung
I watch how the hands fold,
neatly into each others
reach out and push off
magnetised
So pull my heart
pushes my heart
twirls my hearts
beneath the surface of my skin
ticking, tocking, ticking, tocking
beating from deep within
But times goes slow,
and the clock grown tired
of swinging the pendulum
left right left right left right
until it grinds to a halt
left, right, left, right
tick, tock, tick, tock
left, right, left
tick tock
tick
